Q: What is HELLUVAJOB?

A: HELLUVAJOB is two things. It's a place to find small, big, odd, and not so odd job opportunities. It is also your free tool to contact people who are skilled and passionate about what they do best. Our goal is for you to create a job you'll enjoy, and for those who are already employed, to find that someone who can free up whatever small big odd job you may have.

Register:

Q: What is Register?
A: Register is short for registration. To participate and enjoy all the fun features of HELLUVAJOB, we ask that you register with us. Registration is a 3 step process, FREE and takes less than a minute to complete.

Q: Why should I register?
A: Here's a question from us- why haven't you yet? The HELLUVAJOB community is all about helping you find jobs, find help, find friends all for free and with absolutely no strings attached! Registering with us you'll also receive your very own profile page complete with Blog and forum features. Finally, be a part of the world's first job website that actually rewards users for working hard! So register now!

Q: What are the benefits of registering?
A: Aside from finding jobs around the neighborhood or finding the right person to help you with your project, by registering you'll be receiving points which can be redeemed for gifts and other goodies from our Treasure room! So hurry!

Q: Who can register?
A: Anyone can register so long as you're at least 14 years old.

Q: Where does my personal information go after registering?
A: We don't collect personal information like social security numbers, driver's licenses, or even your street address. What we do ask is that you leave with us a first and last name, the State you're in and a zip code. All this information stays here and only here.

Q: What is a Username?
A: A Username, commonly known as a 'handle' or 'screen name', is your identity on HELLUVAJOB. You can make up any word for your Username so long as it's not already taken but you also have the option to use your first and last name. So choose wisely the name you want to be called. My Username is Wantone!

Q: What is the purpose of a Username?
A: The purpose of a Username is to protect your identity and to differentiate two people with the same first and last name. Finally it also protects the true identity of the user of HELLUVAJOB

Sign In:

Q: What is Sign In?
A: Think of Sign In as the front door to a big house and the Username and Password as your keys to enter. Users must follow the exact Username and Password they chose from registration to enter.

Q: Why do I have to sign in?
A: To prevent abuser from posting phantom job posts, testimonials, or job help, we require visitors to sign in. Once you're signed in you can freely post a blog, enter our forums to meet friends, seek a job, or post a job. All free to a signed in guest!

Q: Why am I having trouble signing in?
A: A few things may be preventing you from signing in.
- Is your Caps Lock key engaged? Our Username and Password gateway is case
- sensitive. Sometimes a capitalized letter in the wrong place will deny you entry.
- Do you have the right Username or Password?
- Is your Number Lock key engaged? On some computers the Num Lock can type
- symbols instead of numbers!
- Are you carefully pressing the keys to your Username and Password? Sometimes my big chubby fingers hit the wrong keys!

Q: What is 'Keep Me Signed In'?
A: Tired of signing in over and over again? 'Keep Me Signed In' is a nifty little feature that stores your Username and Password so you don't have to re-type your Username and Password every time you leave your computer. If you're sharing a computer with someone, we strongly suggest you do not use this feature as other people can enter in your account without and create havoc.

Q: Forgotten Password?
A: Don't fret don't fret! If you've lost your Password, simply contact us and we'll send you a new Password to your registered e-mail address. Unlike your neighborhood locksmith, there's no charge sending you a new Password. Once you receive the Password, we suggest you go to Edit Profile, then PERSONAL ACCOUNT, select Edit Password, and change your Password there. Keep it safe with you.

Log In / Log Out:

Q: What is Log In?
A: Log In is like the door to your house and your Username and Password the keys. To enter this site and use all its features, a registered user must log in with the correct Username and Password. Every time you enter HELLUVAJOB you will automatically accumulate points. So do check in to your account daily to see if you've got new job prospects or new messages from friends. If nothing new shows at least you know you're being rewarded for coming in. Finally, go to Edit Profile and see just how many points you've accumulated then enter our Treasure room to redeem gifts coupons and other goodies!

Q: Why do I have to log in?
A: You are free to roam and check out all the features HELLUVAJOB has to offer. However to make contact with an employer who wants to hire you, or find a job you want to take up, find a skilled person, find a user, engage in conversations, write a Blog, or redeem prizes in the Treasure room, you have to be a registered user and you have to log in to participate. We created this not to deter people from using HELLUVAJOB. We did this to protect you from outside abusers.

Q: Why can't I log in?
A: There are a few reasons why a user can sometimes not log in. Before we answer those, make sure your Username and Password are correct. I've got big fingers and sometimes I accidentally press a wrong key! Next, make sure your Caps Lock button on your keyword is set on off. Our Username and Password entry boxes are case sensitive. Make sure your Number Lock button is off too if that is on? Finally, ask whether you recently changed your Password? If you've forgotten your Password write us and we'll send you a new one! There's no charge of course!

Q: How do I know I'm logged in?
A: When you're logged in, you will see 2 things- the orange 'Log In' tab to the right should now read 'Log Out'. Next, on your Username, there will be a light bulb icon. A lit light bulb shows a user is currently logged in and online.

Q: Where and how do I Log Out?
A: Logging out is a snap and we advise you to always log out especially if you're sharing a computer with someone else. To the right upper side of the page you should see an orange tab aptly called 'Log Out'. Click on it and within seconds you should be logged out.

Q: Why should I Log Out?
A: Your user profile is your identity within HELLUVAJOB. To prevent someone using your name to post a nasty Blog, or a nasty Forum entry, or worse, steal your hard earned points to the Treasure room we highly recommend you log out of HELLUVAJOB when you leave your computer.

Q: How do I know I'm logged out?
A: Once you're logged out the orange tab to the upper ride side of the page should read 'Log In'. Also if you happen to see your Username from a different computer, notice that the light bulb icon beside your Username should be turned off.

Post Job:

Q: What is Post Job?
A: Post Job is for employers and individuals to post their job needs. Be it an internship, a dog that needs to be walked or house sitting, post your service needs here.

Q: How do I post a job?
A: Posting a job is really easy on HELLUVAJOB. First you'll need to Sign In. Next, click on Post Job and now you're at the Post Job page. Enter your Job Title, then select category. Add the zip code to tell the applicant where the job will be. Then give a brief description to what you need done. Finally fill in Type of Compensation, cost, and time increment. Click 'Submit' and you're done. To see a record of all the jobs you've posted, please visit Edit Profile, go down to Edit Job Post, then click to open.

Q: How do I manage my postings?
To manage all the jobs you've posted, please visit Edit Profile, go down to Edit Job Post, then click to open.

Q: How many jobs may I post?
You may post as many jobs as you wish.

Q: How long are my postings stored?
They will stay there for a good 2 months.

Forums:

Q: What is Forums?
A: Forums is where you and all users of the site come to chit chat, gossip, maybe even discuss work related things. So make a new friend in Forums, sell an old bicycle, or just talk shop.

Q: What do I do on Forums?
A: There's a lot to do on Forums. Having trouble with a small job? Why not post a topic and ask a fellow member from the trade for tips? Want to sell your old tools? Post them here. Want to plan a neighborhood get together or any special announcements? Post all the fun topics here!
Q: Who is on Forums?
A: There are plenty of people on Forums. People in the same trade, potential customers, clowns who can tell a good joke, even a love connection ;) ???

Q: Why can't I enter Forums?
A: There should be no reason why you can't enter Forums! Check to see if you're Signed In? Or contact us if you still have problems!

Q: What can I post and not post on Forums?
A: You can post anything you want so long as you keep everything tame. Tame means no nudity, foul language, and personal attacks.

Blogs:

Q: What is a Blog?
A: A Blog can best be described as an online journal or a chronological log of events happening in your life. The purpose is to give friends and family an update on how your doing, your thoughts etc. Subscribers of your Blog can then leave a comment or reply.

Q: How do I Blog?
A: Blogging is easy. Just go to your Edit profile page, click Blog and type away!

Q: Why should I blog?
A: Blogging is not only a way to let others keep in touch with you, it's also a great means to meet new people, get their perspective on a particular subject you're writing about, and perhaps find a solution together. Reading on how you might tackle a certain problem gives great insight to a potential employer!

Q: Is there a limit to how much I blog?
A: Absolutely not. Our servers can handle anything you can dish out so blog away!!!

Q: How do I attach pictures to my blog?
A: Very simple. At the bottom of the blog page just click browse, select a file and then attach! Presto! Picture in your blog.

Ratings:

Q: What are Ratings?
A: Ratings are an assessment to your performance as a skilled help. When someone hires you, at the end of the job, you are to pass to them a Rating sheet complete with a Testimonial. Your customer then completes the sheet and a 1-5 star rating will appear on your profile sheet right next to the skill you advertised.

Q: Can I change my ratings?
A: No. You cannot change your rating if it is bad. To remedy the situation, you would need to do more jobs and raise your ratings from there.

Q: What am I being rated for?
A: There are 5 criteria- Punctuality, Presentation, Professionalism. Performance, and Price. Each one carries a 1-5 star system. The perfect rating would be 25 stars or 5 stars per criteria.

Treasure:

Q: What is Treasure?
A: Treasure is your secret room to goodies, gifts, and new features. The purpose of the Treasure room is to reward you for random good acts! Gaining points is simple. Just coming to the site to check into your profile each day will award you points. Complete a job and get a positive feedback will award you points too! Introduce more friends, write a nice blog, or help a fellow user and points can be had as well. To enter the Treasure room you will need 50 credit points. Once inside, work your way up to other prizes!

Q: How do I redeem prizes in the Treasure room?
A: To redeem goodies from the Treasure room you need to earn points. Points can be earned as easy as just checking into your account to see if you've been hired or if you have new messages to reply. Once you've amassed a certain amount of points, go into the Treasure room and exchange prizes with your points. Once you've clicked the prize, your points would then be deducted immediately. If you choose certain online features, those features would be passed to you immediately.

Q: Can I suggest prizes?
A: Absolutely! Click Contact Us and send us a message there. Be sure to type 'Gift Suggestion' on the title bar.

User Profile:

Q: What is Edit Profile?
A: Edit Profile is where you can freely edit and change your profile page. Your profile is your identity. Your profile is your shop. Your profile is your livelihood so pack it with as much information as you can when you're in Edit Profile.

Messages:

Q: What is Messages?
A: Messages is HELLUVAJOB's very own message center. Send messages to a contact without having to disclose your personal e-mail address.

Q: What is Compose?
A: When you need to write a fellow user a message, use Compose.

Q: What is Inbox?
A: The Inbox is where all incoming messages and replies are delivered to you. The number next to the Inbox tells you how many messages you have in your inbox which are new.

Q: What is Draft?
A: You're putting together a mail but you don't want to send it out just yet. Draft allows you to put down your thoughts to send out on a later date. There is no time limit when you need to send out the draft.

Q: What is Sent?
A: Your Sent folder shows how many messages you've sent out!

Q: What is Trash?
A: Trash is where you your deleted Drafts, messages from the Inbox and Outbox end up. Once you decide to clear Trash, those messages are gone forever and cannot be retrieved!

Q: Can I recover messages that were accidentally trashed?
A: Sorry but once it's gone! it's gone!

Q: How many messages can I store?
A: At this moment, infinite!

Q: Can I send messages to my e-mail?
A: Our message system is a closed inner network system and copies cannot be sent to your e-mail. It's not us! it's the technology really!

Q: What is Edit Avatar?
A: Edit Avatar allows you to post or delete an avatar.

Q: What is an Avatar?
A: An avatar is just a fancy name for photo identity. Now that you have your very own profile, feel free to display a picture of yourself under your Username. The photo can be of yourself or a pet or any picture you like. The purpose of an avatar again is to just put a face to a Username.

Q: What is Caption?
A: A Caption is exactly that, a small comment which you might like to leave under your avatar.

Q: How to upload an Avatar?
A: Loading an avatar is super easy. Click Browse and then select your favorite photo from your computer. Once the photo has been attached to the Browse field, click Add New Photo and your new avatar should be up! Change as many times as you like.

Q: Can I recover a replaced Avatar?
A: Unfortunately once a photo has been replaced with another photo, the previous photo is gone from our database.

Edit Showcase:

Q: What is Edit Showcase?
A: Edit Showcase is a feature which allows you to upload and delete 3 photos of your recent work.

Q: What is the purpose of Showcase?
A: The purpose of Showcase is to display and demonstrate how well your advertised skill is. You say you're a great gardener. Now everyone can see!

Q: How do I upload photos to Showcase?
A: Uploading photos to Showcase is a snap!
- Click Add New Showcase
- Then click 'Browse' and select a photo from your computer.
- Once the photo file has been attached to the field, place a title and description,
- Finally click Add New Showcase again.
- Within seconds your photo will be added.

Q: How many pictures can I upload to Showcase?
A: At this moment you can only add 3 photos. Once you've accumulated enough points, you can then go to Treasure room to upgrade for more photos. It's free:)

Q: What is the maximum sized picture I can upload to Showcase?
A:1MB

Q: What picture files does Showcase support?
A: Showcase will support .jpg and .bmp formats.

Q: How do I delete pictures from Showcase?
A: Very simple. To the right of each photo is a Delete button. Just click once.

Text:

Q: What is Edit Skills?
A: Each user of HELLUVAJOB displays 3 skills or hobbies. Edit Skills allow you to change those skills to other skills you probably didn't think of in the beginning. Change as many times as you want. Please note that changing your skills will not change or delete the testimonials your clients left behind!

Q: What are Listed Skills?
A: Listed Skills are skills that people see you possess when they visit your profile. You can change the listed skills as often as you wish. You can only list 3 skills at a time.
Q: How do I delete skills I no longer want?
A: Very simple. To the left of each of your skills there is a box. Click on it then click the Delete button.

Q: How do I replace unwanted skills?
A: You can either delete or keep adding new skills. Newer skills will succeed over the old skills.

Q: What is Category?
A: After you've entered a skill, we strongly suggest selecting a Category that is closest to your skill level. For instance, for my skill I enter 'Folding'. Do I mean folding furniture or do I mean folding linen? If the latter then I'd choose 'Fashion' as my Category to help a potential customer find me easily.

Q: What is Skill Level?
A: As with any skill you're either good, mediocre or bad. Select what you think you are- Beginner, Intermediate or Expert!

Q: What is Years Experience?
A: If you posted coaching sports let your viewers know exactly how many years you've coached!

Q: Who can see my skills?
A: Registered and non registered users can see your skills. Only registered users can contact you.

Edit Other Interests:

Q: What is Edit Other Interests?
A: Other Interests are basically tags. Edit Other Interests is the ability to change those tags.

Q: What are tags?
A: Tags are basically words that have been assigned a specific link or video or picture. When a reader reads a tag and clicks on it, the reader is then taken to another page or link or picture.

Q: Why should I post other interests?
A: It is in your best interest to post as many interests as you have in the Other Interests window. The more words you place in your Interests window the higher the chances HELLUVAJOB' search engine can find you and match you with an employer or job opportunity.

Q: How can I add interests?
A: All you need to do is go to the ADD INTEREST entry box, add a word, then click on ADD. Immediately you will see your interest added above.

Q: How do I delete interests?
A: To delete, simply click on the Interest word and click DELETE.

Edit Why you should hire me

Q: What is WYSHM?
A: WYSHM is a feature for users to advertise themselves, in their own words. It's a helpful tool for employers to better understand the person they're about to hire.

Q: How many words can I write about myself?
A: 512 words maximum

Community:

Q: What is Edit Friends?
A: Edit Friends is a feature for you to add as well as delete friends from your profile. The idea is to upload as many friends into your profile page and see if you share common friends with them. For HELLUVAJOB' purpose, the more friends who know from one another, a more trusting network can evolve.

Q: Why should I add friends?
A: Each time when you add friends you're adding points to the pot. A certain amount of points can be used to trade exquisite goodies in the Treasure room.

Q: How do I add and Delete friends?
A: Assuming someone comes to your profile and wants to add you as a friend? Your friend's photo will then be added to the Edit Friends window. To allow them to join, you simply must approve or delete their photo from your Edit Friends folder.

People I Hired:

Q: What is People I Hired?
A: People I Hired is a log of the good and bad people you've hired in the past. Consider it a quick reference book should you need their help in the future.

Q: How does it work?
A: Simply click Add or Delete next to the Avatar.

Q: How can I find out more about this person?
A: To find out more about this user, simply click on the Username or their avatar.

Edit Bookmarks:

Q: What is Edit Bookmarks?
A: Bookmarks is a tool for employers looking to hire a person but has no time to read through all the profiles. So by skimming through a user's profile, employers can then go back to review the candidates they felt were qualified for the job.

Q: How does it work?
A: When you visit any user's profile, below their photo lies a Bookmarks button. Click on it and then check the profiles in a later time. To read Bookmarks one must click on Edit Profile then Edit Bookmarks.

Q: Why should I add bookmarks?
A: Assuming you will be interviewing 10-15 people, it's good to have bookmarks on them so that you don't lose the contact while surfing through other profile pages.

Q: Does the other party know I added them to my bookmarks?
A: No the other will not know that you bookmarked them.

Q: How many bookmarks can I add?
A: As many as you like.

Personal Account:

Q: What is Edit Password?
A: Edit Password is where you can change your Log In Password to anything you like. We strongly advise changing your Password as often as you can to protect yourself.

Q: How do I change Password?
A: Changing your Password is simple. 1. Enter existing Password, 2. Enter the new Password that you like. Passwords should be at least 8 letters or numbers long, 3. Re-enter the new Password again and you're set!

Q: I forgot my Password now what?
A: Forgot your Password? Don't fret. Click contact us in the Log In window in your next entry and we'll send you a new Password!

Edit Bio:

Q: What is Edit Bio?
A: Edit Profile is the page which shows your name, gender, your working conditions as well as your status on the board.

Q: Can I not fill in any information?
A: No. All fields must be filled.

Q: Will my name be hidden?
A: Yes but you need to select 'Keep Hidden' first.

Q: What if I have a skill to offer as well as a job to offer?
A: No problem. You can select both.

Q: Can I change my Username?
A: No. To change your Username you will need to re-register with HELLUVAJOB

Edit Job Post

Q: What is Edit Job Post?
A: Edit Job Post is your personal folder keeping a record of all the jobs you've ever posted!

Q: How do I read my posts?
A: All the job posts are posted chronologically. To read each post just click the title.

Q: Can I edit my posts?
A: Yes. Just click on edit.

Q: How do I delete my posts?
A: Just click on delete.

View

Q: What is a Hit Report?
A: A Hit Report is a meter counting how many people have come to visit your profile.

Q: What is a General Hit?
A: A General Hit is basically the number of visitors.

Q: What is who viewed me?
A: 'Who Has Viewed Me' is a useful feature to see who exactly visited your profile. Only registered visitors can be recorded. Non registered visitors cannot be recorded. The purpose is to give the you a chance to write to a visitor to ask why they visited yet left no message? Did they change their mind? Now is your chance to find out.

Testimonials:

Q: What is a Testimonial?
A: A Testimonial is essentially a feedback feature. It is given to a user by a customer. Points can be earned depending on a positive Testimonial received.

Q: Can I change or delete my testimonials?
A: No. whether a testimonial is positive or negative, the testimonial stays on a user's profile. It cannot be erased.

Point Pot:

Q: What is a Point Pot?
A: The Point Pot is where you go to check and see how many points you have accumulated. Points can be earned through various acts on HELLUVAJOB e.g. checking in for messages, introducing new friends, posting Blogs, even participating in Forums. We're not going to let the cat out of the bag but visit HELLUVAJOB often and watch your Point Pot grow!

Q: What do I do with my points?
A: When you receive your points you can go to the Treasure room to redeem prizes. Once a price has been redeemed, your points would be subtracted from the Point Pot.

Q: How do I gain points?
A: Points can be earned through various acts on HELLUVAJOB e.g. checking in for messages, introducing new friends, posting Blogs, even participating in Forums. We're not going to let the cat out of the bag but visit HELLUVAJOB often and watch your Point Pot grow!

Q: Can I transfer my points?
A: Yes. Points can be kept or transferred to friends. All transferees must be members of HELLUVAJOB

Trophy Case:

Q: What is a Trophy Case?
A: Trophy Case is where you store all your rewards and accolades. Each time when you redeem a new prize, a reward or icon will show in your Trophy Case.

Q: Can I delete trophies?
A: No. All trophies stay in the Trophy Case.

Q: Are trophies transferable?
A: No. All trophies stay with the user and can not be transferred.

Q: How do I get more prizes into my trophy case?
A: To earn more prizes you'll need to step up your game. Win more jobs, introduce your profile to more people, and participate more! We're all here behind you. So do your best!

Preview:

Q: What is Preview?
A: When all changes have been made you can click on Preview to see how your profile looks to visitors.

Browse Skills:

Q: What is Browse Skills?
A: Browse Skills is essentially a quick view of all the skilled people available on HELLUVAJOB with no specific category.

Q: How do I browse skills?
A: Very simple. Just click Browse skills but to better your search, enter a zip code and then click Browse skills. That should show how many skilled people are in your areA:

Q: What if I can't find a particular skilled person?
A: If you can't find the right candidate, chances are they haven't posted their skill yet? In this case, we suggest you to click POST JOB, post a job and let the skilled help come to you!

Q: Can I create a new category?
A: You bet. In fact you'd be rewarded with points and a special icon on your profile page if you can think of a new category!

Q: How do I contact a user who I think fits my job requirements?
A: Assuming you find the right help you should click on the user's profile picture then click on the CONTACT ME button. From there you can write out the details etc.You must be registered to contact the skilled help.

Q: How do I keep track of all my communication with contacts?
A: All messages written by you and replied by your contact can all be read as it is stored in the Message folder. To access the Message folder, click the MESSAGES tab on the top of the page or click EDIT PROFILE and access Messages there.

Browse Jobs:

Q: What is Browse Jobs?
A: Browse Jobs is essentially a quick view of all jobs available on HELLUVAJOB with no specific category.

Q: How do I browse jobs?
A: Very simple. Just click Browse Jobs but to come out with better search results, enter a zip code and then click Browse Jobs.

Q: What if I can't find a particular job I like?
A: If you can't find a particular job you like, do not fret. Like dating, there's always a job for you. In this instance create a new category and list what your dream job would be? Once we receive it we'll place it in the right area for potential employers! Alternatively, go to Forums and list the dream job you'd like to have there.

Q: Can I create a new category?
A: You bet. In fact you'd be rewarded with points and a special icon on your profile page if you can think of a new category!

Q: How do I contact the job poster?
A: Assuming you find the right job you are advised to contact the job poster. Contact your poster by clicking APPLY. You must be registered to contact the job poster.

Q: How do I keep track of all my communication with contacts?
A: All messages written by you and replied by your contact can all be read as it is stored in the Message folder. To access the Message folder, click the MESSAGES tab on the top of the page or click EDIT PROFILE and access Messages there.

Q: Is there a fee involved?
A: There are no fees at HELLUVAJOB! When you make contact with your employer, it is up to you to negotiate the best price and terms. Good luck!

Privacy Policy:

Q: How is my personal information protected?
A: At HELLUVAJOB, we do not collect any personal information other than your name, e-mail, city you live, and a zip code. The purpose is so that people can contact you if they have a job in the same neighborhood.

Search:

Q: What is Search?
A: Search is here to help you: Find a job, find a skilled person to help you with a job, or find a user from the site!

Q: How do I use search?
A: Using search is simple. Click on your objective: Find Jobs, Find People, or Find User. Next, enter a hobby or skill, then location- city, state or zip. Click Search and wait for the results.

Find Jobs:

Q: What is Find Jobs?
A: Find Jobs is a tool to help you find a job in your neighborhood.

Q: How do I use Find Jobs?
A: Easy! Click on Find Jobs, then enter the type of job you wish to find, next enter the neighborhood or city you feel most comfortable working at and select 'search'.

Q: How do I contact employers on Find Jobs?
A: Once you've clicked 'submit' from the search result pages, a list of job opportunities should be available to you. Just click on any of the offers and leave your message there. Good Luck!!!

Find People:

Q: What is Find People?
A: Find Jobs is a tool to help you find a job in your neighborhood.

Q: How do I use Find People?
A: Easy! Click on Find People, then enter the type of skilled person you wish to find, next enter the neighborhood or city you're in and select 'search'.

Q: How do I make contact with the skilled person listed?
A: Once you've clicked 'search' from the search result pages, a list of skilled applicants should be available to you. Just click on any of the profiles and leave your message there. Good Luck!!!

Find User:

Q: What is Find User?
A: Need to find a particular user who helped you out with a specific job? Type in as close to the username and let HELLUVAJOB find him or her for you.

Q: What is Browse Skills?
A: So you're not sure where you want to find your skilled help. Click Browse Skills for a complete view of all the skilled people in your neighborhood.

Q: What is Browse Jobs?
A: Stuck and no one's clicked on your profile or needs your special skills? Don't be sad. There are plenty of small job opportunities around you that maybe you can perform! Click on Browse Jobs to see what jobs are available in your area!
